Have you ever wondered if you are a candidate for Invisalign?

While many of our patients are excited for braces, some wonder if there is a less noticeable, more esthetic option.  Other advantages of Invisalign can include that it is easier to maintain good oral hygiene and there are less breakages compared to braces.  There are some important factors that we take into consideration when making the recommendation for Invisalign.  The factors below determine how difficult your treatment will be, which will determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign.

Factors:

Crowding

Spacing

Overbite or underbite

Open bite or deep bite

Crossbite

Depending on your combination of these factors, Invisalign can provide a better or equivalent end result, and/or affect the total time in treatment.  Sometimes, Invisalign requires additional appliances, such as elastics, or a small segment of braces for a short period of time.  Another factor to take into consideration is compliance, or how well you wear your trays, since they will only work while they are in your mouth!  In your consultation, we will review all of this information, as it relates to you, so that you can make your decision.

Finally, not all Invisalign providers are equal.  Even if you have already been assessed and been told that Invisalign is not a good option for you, you may still be a candidate.  Depending on level of experience with Invisalign, different dentists and orthodontists may give you different opinions. It is important to remember that Invisalign is just a product – it is the skill and expertise of the doctor planning the treatment that determines the success.  We are proud to say that we are among the providers of Invisalign in North America, or what Invisalign refers to as a “Premier Elite provider”.  This means that we have experience treating more patients with Invisalign than many other Invisalign providers.  Contact us for a consultation and we will determine the treatment that is right for you.
