First Visit
What To Expect
We look forward to meeting you on your first complimentary visit to Cedarbrae and Danforth Orthodontic Centres. During this visit, we will help you get
acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic treatment.
We understand that each patient’s orthodontic treatment is different, and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve. Your first orthodontic visit will consist of an examination by one of our orthodontists and a discussion of potential orthodontic treatment options. On occasion, when it is indicated, a panorex X-ray is taken to help us determine if this is the proper time to begin treatment.
The purpose of the initial examination is to answer:
- What sort of problem is present, if any?
- When is the proper time to begin treatment?
- What type of treatment is indicated?
- How long will treatment take?
- How much will the treatment cost?
If we determine that treatment is indicated, a complete set of diagnostic records will be taken. These may consist of study models, orthodontic X-rays as well as digital photographs. These records are necessary to develop a customized treatment plan for each patient.
After we have evaluated your records, a second visit is scheduled to conduct a treatment consultation or case presentation. At this appointment we will explain all aspects of your treatment in detail. We will provide a complete clinical diagnosis regarding the nature of the problem, a summary of the findings and a detailed plan that outlines your treatment, goals and estimated fees. We encourage questions from both patients and parents, and as such, we provide ample time to answer your questions. For your convenience, treatment may also begin at this visit should you choose.
